Ten Tips For Living A Beach Life...Even If You Don't Live On The Beach

Everybody dreams of chucking their lives and moving to the beach. They enter into the "if only" zone. If only I could do this, or achieve that, or be this, or do that, then I could move to the beach. Truth of the matter is, the rules for how to live on the beach aren't that much different than living any place else.

Here are my 10 tips for living a beach life, even if you don't live on the beach.

1. Try something new.

2. Stay away from things (or people) you know are going to hurt you!

3. Be curious.

4. You can be a part of the crowd but retain your individuality.

5. Remember the things your mother taught you (or should have!)

6. Even small things matter. Remember to be kind. Share. Hold a door open for somebody. Smile.

7. Pay attention to the red flags. They’re there for a reason.

8. Never stay longer than you should. If it doesn’t feel right, get out.
9. One step at a time. That’s all it takes. One step at a time.
10. Follow your own path and eventually you’ll discover that everyday is a day at the beach.

C'mon- you gotta love purple smiley face shorts on an older man! Especially one who looks that good from behind.

Diana- I have met three people this weekend wearing coins from the Atosha in my store! I love mine, it reminds me of you, that sunset in Key West and a great vacation.

Next time you come down we'll go to the Mel Fisher Museum. My girls loved it the last time we went.

Speaking of daughters, tell Sabia she's the very fist one to receive the Pug At The Beach Prayer Beads.

I see that you're on Twitter now. Makes me want some Kettle Boys every time I read what you're popping!

Love your thinking. I live by the beach and don't take advantage of it. I will now.

      Hi Molina,

My all means, go down to the beach! It'll soothe your soul. And it's chocked full of interesting stuff!

I've found some really cool things on the beach early in the morning, like the paper nautilus shell. I've also met some wonderful people down there in the early evening.

Sometimes I go for the sunrise which is a great way to start the day.

And, of course, my dog Buddy and I go for a walk down Ocean Boulevard (A1A) everyday!

Follow us on Twitter. The background photo is from Ocean Ridge, just north of Delray Beach, another really nice beach.

      Thanks for dropping by!
