Pug's New Friend Needs A Name
One of the great philosophers said there are five different types of friendships ranging from casual to intimate and the status of each will change as our lives change. Like seasons, people come and go impacting us in varying ways and degrees. Each has a unique value.

In mid January of this year, as I walked along a little latitude beach, I found this plastic sandwich bag adorned with some seaweed and shell fragments. It wasn’t until I was two steps beyond it that I realized that what was once trash had been, by a simple quirk of nature, transformed into something delightful.
My camera, an ever faithful friend in its own right, allowed me this photo as a reminder to remain open to the wonderfully amazing little things which surround us on a daily basis. We are each embraced by many blessings everyday whether we know it or not. Our responsibility is in stopping to acknowledge, appreciate, and enjoy those things whether they are simple adornments of a rich life or the friendships which encourage us to grow into our best and most creative selves.
Pug’s friends include Zooley, Phyllis Diller, and a cast of characters which haven’t yet been introduced to the world. The little guy in the photo above is Pug’s newest friend. He’s without a name though. Send us your suggestions for this little guy’s name and if we pick yours we’ll send you a Pug At The Beach book. Leave your suggestions in the comment box below or email/snail mail us. The winner will be notified via email. The closing date for submissions is October 31st.
Until then my wish for you today is that you will stop, if only for one minute, to name a simple joy in your life. They are the true blessings of a rich life. And if you take a little time everyday to do this I promise you'll have more than you can possibly imagine.
