Perspective

Flower outside my window

Perspective is a funny thing. When I’m drawing Pug, I sometimes get stuck on a matter of perspective. A line is off or the distance from fore to background is not right.  My first course of action is a more determined eye. And then, when resignation sets in I ask my daughter Zoe for help.  She’ll take my pencil and with a few quick strokes, change my perspective.

Perspective is funny.

We can look at a thing six different ways and then someone will come along and offer a fresh take.

We can see ourselves in a certain ways for many years holding on to that perspective because that’s what we’ve always known or done or been told. But then someone comes along and offers a new look.

Same flower with the camera tilted down a bit.

My wish for you today is that when you need a fresh perspective someone will be there to offer it and that you’ll also be open to receiving it.
